A modern renovated old-style Manhattan, New York condo with modern fixtures, lighting but fun art and furniture

GRACIE, a successful painter, Stephanies best-friend and roommate, late 30’s, introspective, single, good-looking, bi-racial woman.

GRACIE

A life! When are you going to give up that computer crap and enjoy life? You stare at a screen all day like some petrified zombie. You could be painting… it’s less stressful — ya’know?

STEPHANIE

I was going to say, job. I need to earn a living Gracie! How is painting going to do that for me? Not everyone is a generational talent like you Grace. The only money i’ll make from painting is selling yours. Sometimes, I wish things were much simpler. What’s a degree worth these days anyway… I mean — how many people are doing something related to what they went to school for?

Maybe, you could code up an oven that never burns a pizza. How long would that take? Your whole life? haha
